What documents do I need to apply for a Turkey e-ATV?
If your passport and itinerary require a Turkey electronic airport transit visa (e-ATV), keep your passport and flight booking ready, then follow the document requests for your route on the official portal. Treat this as preparation guidance, not a complete mandatory-upload checklist. A printed e-ATV is a separate document to carry after issuance.
What should I have ready before starting?
Start with the documents that describe who you are and where you are flying. Having them beside you helps you answer application questions consistently; it does not mean every item must be uploaded.
- The passport you will use: keep the identity page available so you can check your name, nationality, passport number and validity dates against any fields requested.
- Your complete flight booking: have the incoming and connecting flight details, dates, airport codes, ticket numbers and booking reference available. A booking reference and an airline ticket number may be different identifiers; check which one the form asks for.
- Relevant onward-travel documents: keep any destination visa, residence document or other evidence relevant to your onward journey available for checking. Whether it is needed depends on the destination and your circumstances; do not assume it is a universal Turkish e-ATV upload.
- Contact and address information: have an accessible email address and your itinerary-related address details ready if requested. Follow the wording of the actual field rather than guessing whether it refers to your home or destination.
Use the official Turkish eVisa portal for the applicable airport-transit instructions. If the e-ATV route or its document requests are unclear, seek clarification from the relevant Turkish mission before submitting a different visa application.
Do I need a passport scan, photograph or bank statement?
Do not assume these are mandatory e-ATV uploads simply because they appear on a tourist eVisa or embassy-visa checklist. Supply scans, photographs, financial evidence or reservations only as instructed for your actual application.
Likewise, a Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa should not automatically be described as an e-ATV requirement. Supporting-document rules for a conditional tourist eVisa answer a different question. Having one of those documents also does not, by itself, prove that you are exempt from an airport-transit requirement.
Which documents should I carry when flying?
For affected Indian and Nepalese passport holders travelling through Istanbul Airport to Mexico, Panama, Colombia or Venezuela, the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi’s e-ATV notice instructs passengers to carry a printout. It identifies checks by airlines or service providers at departure and by Turkish authorities in the airport’s transit arrival area.
Print the issued document before departure and keep it with your passport and flight information. The printout is the result of the application, rather than a document you already need in order to start it. Check separately which documents your airline and onward destination require.
What should I check before submitting?
- Confirm the applicable transit route using your passport nationality, airport, onward country and travel date.
- Compare the information entered with your passport and actual booking.
- Follow the current instructions for any additional documents, including their format, rather than borrowing specifications from another visa product.
- Ask your airline whether your baggage and boarding arrangements let you remain in the international transit area.
If you will pass through Turkish passport control, review the separate Turkey entry requirements for your passport. Do not use an airport-transit document as a substitute for the entry permission your circumstances require.
Where can I get help preparing?
Our Turkey e-ATV application guide explains the distinction between the official application channel and optional assistance. For questions about our services, contact Turkey Immigration Services to confirm whether assistance is available for your passport and itinerary before payment.
Turkey Immigration Services is an independent service provider, not the government portal or issuing authority. Any available assistance is optional and carries service charges; Turkish authorities determine the application requirements and visa decision.
